You will enjoy being away from the noise of  highway 69 lodgings yet still in walking distance to all that New Glarus has to offer. The Sugar River Trail, the Historic turn of the century Swiss Village, and the many charming stores, taverns, and eateries in downtown New Glarus.  Just outside the back door is an abandoned cow pasture  and an old hillside dairy barn kissed by yesteryear.  A quiet rural environment welcomes you as well as, a wonderful cup of tea which makes everything better.

Helvetica Inn was recommended in the Chicago Tribune as a place to stay while viewing the fall colors on bicycle, foot, or by car. Come and enjoy learning the history of the Inn, viewing the many visible constellations in the sky, and the romantic, charming village of New Glarus. It's Swiss soul is still prevalent in every day life.

The Helvetica Inn will have a new owner as of April 30, 2013.
The former inn keeper, Lynda Calderon purchased the home in April 2009.  Since then many wonderful historical stories have been recounted about the house.  The older picture that is seen here is the original home from the 1800's. It is also suspected that the home was one of the first original farm houses built in New Glarus not counting the log homes, since it is located on the corner of 1st Ave and 3rd. St.
